St Vincent’s provides free education for adults in Leeds. Our learning programme is complemented by our other services and aims to tackle deprivation issues, focusing on local needs.
Each week St Vincent’s runs over 20 classes which focus on literacy, English, Information Computer Technology, art and cooking. All of our classes are open to anyone over 18 and are taught by highly skilled volunteer tutors. Classes teach important life skills to help learners move on to further education or employment or to have the confidence to become more involved in their local community.
St Vincent’s is the largest free provider of ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) in Leeds. The Support Centre is part of the MESH (Migrant English Support Hub) project which coordinates all the ESOL providers in Leeds to make it easier for people to find a course in their area.
We offer Certa Accredited courses including Team Building, Employability and Volunteering Skills, in addition to our own informal learning programmes. We are proud to have links with partner agencies including the Job Centre, Citizens Advice Bureau and Manuel Bravo who all offer specialised expert help to give learners the best experience.
